ENR3870 it would be a good idea to read your collective agreement before spouting off inaccurate information.
CN yard crews are required to work 8 hrs or Less in yard service, and then paid at punitive amounts. (time and a half rates for overtime) Transfer crews 2 way, and some yard jobs are able to finish before the 8 hours and released.
Contactually we are allowed 20 minute lunch breaks, the local agreement for the GVT is for 40 minutes.
The break allowed other than lunch is from the elements, not a coffee break.
A hot meal is just that, no set time, whatever it takes to go to, obtain, eat and return, is the allowable time period and is only valid in western Canada.
Compensation in lieu of the hot meal is also a local GVT agreement, and not because you are unable to go, you have a choice as a crew as to which one you want.
Be accurate or don't post.

One thing about the Kingston(?) coffee breaks is that it came to an end a year or two ago. Seems that a fire chief was held behind a train for some time, only to find a crew memeber walking out of Dunkin and getting back on board. That brought down a fire storm...
