BOYERTOWN, Pa. — In cooperation with the Maguire Family Foundation, tourist line Colebrookdale Railroad announced on March 27 that it has acquired former Rio Grande Scenic Railroad 2-8-0 No. 18. The engine was built for the Lake Superior & Ishpeming in Upper Michigan by Alco (Pittsburgh) in 1910. The acquisition comes after the railroad said earlier in the week it planned to launch a steam program this year, and is seeking funds to support the effort

According to the PA rail improvements site they received 2 PA rail grants. One posted on 2-24-21 was for $991,250 though the Berks County Redevelopment Authority (BCRA) to build 1,200 feet of yard tracks at the Transload facility of the Colebrookdale Railroad in Boyertown, The second was posted on 12-16-21 was for $1.4 million to replace 1,600 feet of track and construct 1/2 mile siding to the Boyertown Foundry, including rehabilitation of a bridge. This was also through the BCRA.

Does anyone have more information of theses projects?
