Well, what good shops are in Union Station in Washington DC? Any good ones for railfans? My family is planning a trip, and I wanted to know.

It's been almost a year since I've been there, but I can't think of any shops which would specifically interest rail buffs. There was an outlet of the Great Train Store but it closed with the rest of the chain years ago. The Station has lots of stores and restaurants, but in this respect it's much like any other shopping mall. This one, though, has the added attraction of railroad tracks.

The bookstore usually has more than the typical number of RR related books, but no where near the collection a hobby shop selling RR books would have.
