A few months ago it looked like the rails were being torn up on the Enterprise or Titusville branch from Titusville to Aurantia. Is this branch officially abandon? What happens to the ROW? Does it go to the local landowners, the county, railtrail?
Yes, the line has been formally abandoned. The track has been out of service for several years, with the crossing signal lights being disengaged.
FEC is determining the extent of interest by other parties (local governments, etc.) for purchase of the R/W.
If reasonable offers of purchase are not made, then FEC most likely will railbank the property, unless they get real generous and dedicate the propery to some organization.
