I will be in Waterloo Iowa on Sunday, with a few hours to spare.
Was thinking of driving down to the UP line at Marshalltown or Cedar Rapids area to see what is to be seen.

I've never been to Iowa before and want to see some heavy freight traffic during my short stay.
Is that likely?

Thanks,
Lee

The Marshalltown yard should be busy with both through and switching operations. There's a street bridge over the yard from which you can have good viewing.
