Courtesy of the Vice Presidental debate, CSX had to hold all traffic that was to operate over the Short Line because of this debate this evening.

Around 34 trains were involved as of around 8pm mostly WB's

How lovely it is to hold up 34 trains and to create an interruption to the transportation infrustucture for a political event. Talk about a dispatchers nightmare.

I understand why this was carried out as far as a safety aspect , but if you look at it from an alternative perspective, i would rather see some railroad hacks instead of political hacks with nothing constructive to say. at least the railroad hacks couple up.

They held a number of trains (no where near as many) each side of Erie when Bush visited there last month.

Paranoia.................

Anybody care to guess why CSX didn't arrange with NS to operate some of those trains via the Lakefront Line from Collinwood to Berea??? (That is the route used by the Lake Shore Limited.)
