"The first of the carriages for the new Te Huia passenger rail service from Waikato to Auckland pulled up in Hamilton on Saturday in a move hailed as “the future of public transport”."
Huia is an extinct native NEw Zealand bird.
The locomotive is a rebuilt (again ) 1980's GM (Canada), the Carriages rebuilt (again ) MKII British Rail stock. There was a delay getting new narrow gauge bogies from China.
