I've never posted here before so sorry guys if there is another thread regarding this line. I was surfing youtube and found this awsome video of a rail line in near San Diego county. Anyone know anything about the line? (active? were is it and were does it go? who owns it? etc.) There is a description on the video that describes it.

Thanks!

Since the time when those videos were made, the tracks have been rehabilitated and placed back into freight service by the Carrizo Gorge Railway. Currently their main haul is sand and other mixed freight, but they are also interested in passenger excursion service.

Here's the Wikipedia article on them http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrizo_Gorge_Railway

There has been alot of movement on this line over the last several months. All the run around tracks between San Diego and Plaster City were stacked up with stored/mothballed mix of box cars and hoppers. Now they are all completely empty.
