I am trying to determine the fate of CV wooden caboose 4002. I tried Google, came up with dead ends. Any leads?

Can't find anything on 4002 specifically, but here are some of her sisters I was able to track down, all of the same style:

40?? - Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum, Shelburne MA - number not known via web pics/info
4007 - Depot Museum, Brice, Ohio http://www.the-depot.org/caboose.php
4009 - private residence, disguised as B&M, Swanton VT http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM6X ... on_Vermont
4010 - Valley Railroad, Essex CT
4011 - Conway Scenic, N Conway NH
4014 - RMNE/Naugatuck Railroad, Thomaston CT
4030 - Potter Place/Andover, NH on the B&M/Northern RR

CV 4002 repainted:
http://www.godfatherrails.com/photos/pv.asp?pid=626

became St. Johnsbury & Lamoille County Railroad number 001.
then Lamoille Valley Railroad number 100:

Last reference I could find was 1977 and 1979:

then the trail goes cold..

There's a caboose at the carwash in N Conway that could be CV or GT heritage. Anyone know anything about it? It's currently being used as an office for the carwash.

Otto,

I think this caboose became the yard office for one of the CV Rocket incarnations, and was taken off its truck in the process. the car at shelburne fall trolley museum is 4015. the 4008? (one of the two steel side sill cars)is in deplorable condition at Steamtown in Scranton (VTR paint) 4020 is in the pike NH area, and i think the 4013 is somewere in eastern mass. someday you can have a ride in the 4014.

and there are others out there.

It is entirely possible that the CV caboose at Essex, CT may be the 4002 as we also have several former LVRC passenger cars there. I can ask some ppl on Wed eve at volunteer night.

Nope, guaranteed that one is #4010. In the 1990s, it used to be painted red with the classic VRR script logo, and numbered 4010. In 1995, we sent it into the shop for rebuilding. Prior to that, it was used for storage. When it emerged from the shop, it never received its number or logo back. In later years, it would become the "Lomax" caboose and have flower boxes added and painted a different color, and was also used in the last Indiana Jones film in a L&NE scheme.

Somehow your numbering system didn't register on me right away and I saw only the locations. (I must still be tired from Thomas  )
Too bad I never got to see it painted for L&NE. Why didn't they leave it that way?

Here's a shot that I took in '07 of the #4010 at Essex:

Back when it first arrived on the property:

And a really far out shot in VRR colors/lettering (in front of NH RS-3 #529, on the left):

I too have been trying to track down lvrc 100 with no luck
I have only been able to come up with that it might be in a private collection somewhere.... Also ran across a rumor that it may have been busted up and burned as fire wood, thought I really hope not.
I found a few times a list of what was scrapped at the shops in Morrisville and it wasn't on the list, should have saved it.
Have you found anything new ?
