New to the RR world and forum.

I was at a meeting last week and they were talking about operating 2 of the 6 cars with the "7 point cut-out" on a subway car consist. I know the control is a 7 point control, but what does a cut-out mean for actually operating the train?

Most specifically, what does this mean and how would it effect braking?

Thanks much in advance...

Not an expert but believe that the affected cars would basically have inactive motors. Air brakes would be fully active on the affected cars instead of coming in when dynamic/regenerative brakes fade. Acceleration may suffer if carrying heavy load.
