SU 99 9/28 is called for 4:30PM. Power is the CSXT 8828 and NYSW 3014. As a "bonus", the rear of tonights train will have on the rear the following: The "Ohio River", a six axle open ended Privately owned observation car, followed by the URHS owned round observation car the "Hickory Creek", and a privately owned caboose, with RPPX markings. These three cars were delivered to the NYS&W this morning(9/28) from the Morristown and Erie at Passaic Jct via NJ Transit's Bergen County Line. Here are a few images from that movement. Enjoy!

M&E C424 # 18 at midland Ave Prior to returning to NJT rails:

And finally, a couple of CSX images from a cloudy gloomy Sunday:

Thats it for now. I know the quality is less than desireable on a couple of the images, but the midday sun and track orientation combined almost work against the photographer.

Enjoy!

The NYS&W engineers may not be qualified on the Morris and Essex. As a matter of fact, I have not see the NYS&W on any NJ Trains lines latley. The M&E is qualified on some transit lines to get around when required.

Going North no doubt. Any one at UHRS knows more specifics about these cars?

The equipment involved is normally kept on the Morristown and Erie, and as their guys are qualified, they make the run. The NYS&W has no employees qualified on this poertion of NJT. They are only qualified between Hudson Jct(Campbell Hall), and CP Sparrow(west end of Port Jervis).

Here are some photos of the chase. I didn't really get photos of the coaches themselves, but followed the train to a few locations west of Port Jervis for some more abstract photos. I did get one photo from Little Ferry. All the other photos are from Port Jervis, Sparrowbush, Lackawaxen and Narrowsburg.

Enjoy.

Could this be related to the Hoboken-Honesdale passenger service proposed by the M&E? Maybe they are doing some sort of proof of concept here.

They are talking about it over here on the M&E board.

No, they were brought up for a special charter being run on Columbus Day. I believe the new owner and his family are going for a ride / tour of the line.

I have heard the caboose is to be used as a rolling motel of some sort. You can rent it out and have it spotted along the line so you can go fishing, hiking or whatever along the line. Novel idea and I hope it works out. I might even give it a try.

Heads up to everyone, 3 Pullman coaches in yard in Ridgefield Park NJ, near Mt Vernon St: L&N 800228, URHS 333, and NYC Hickory Creek. These coaches weren't here last night, might be on SU99 tonight.

Anyone know the ultimate destination of these coaches? Too bad cant take a ride to Bingo on 'em.
