Any updates on the status of this work? I know in addition to the track work there were also supposed to be a number of signal system upgrades made as well, including some new interlockings.

Status of grant-funded track work in Maine?
- Guilford Rail System changed its name to Pan Am Railways in 2006. Discussion relating to the current operations of the Boston & Maine, the Maine Central, and the Springfield Terminal railroads (as well as the Delaware & Hudson while it was under Guilford control until 1988). I highly doubt they are going to get too deep on signal work with an imminent sale, but could be wrong.
Here's an update-- Grant work is being intentionally held until the outcome of the CSX/Pan Am deal is determined by the STB. Probably because they'll want to leverage CSX crews, and maybe beef up specs (think 115lb vs 136lb rail, ect).
