There was an article in TRP by Chris McDermott about demonstrating the RS27 for Alco. He stated that he had to rearrange the my circuits to conform to the host railroad's setup.


Some of my senior brothers say that they had special jumpers to mu our power to foreign units. Why didn't EMD wire all units the same, especially since they set the 27 pin standard?

Did it have to do with roads which had a majority of other brands of locomotives?

When did the AAR come out with the standard?
