Nope, don't own one. There's a Facebook group, that appears to now be set to members only viewing. One guy posts regularly now when 394 comes through Bloomfield, a kid I've shot with posts routinely when 393 hits South Paris.
Followed by 394 on an off day. Am I seeing an increase in traffic?
There's generally in increase in LPG traffic this time of year. Up until a few years ago, this operation ran 3-4 weeknights consistently.

Yes, I also remember when the Emons Group was running double stacks after they lifted the old B&M trestle in Gorham.

Today I noticed a lone covered hopper sitting in the east throat of the Western Yard in Berlin. I assume this is probably a bad order. I was up until midnight and did not hear any trains. Does anybody know if 393 or 394 ran last night? (12/04/2024)

I'm not sure what you mean by "eastern throat"; SLR is/was spotting cars of plastic pellets at the siding for the former Isaacson Steel plant near where the two trains meet. That is here:

Are you referring to over here?

If so, your assumption makes sense.

Both trains should be running later tonight, timing also depends on whether 394 has Island Pond, Stratford, or Groveton work. It sounds like they dropped cars for NHCR again on Tuesday.

I am refering to the area where the city maintenance garage is located. It just baffles me how that car got there. I go by there every day to walk my shepards at the Berlin Fish Hatchery. So it is bothering me how that lone car got there.
Also, off subject but what is "Pompy"?

393 and 394 just left town Berlin. I may be in error but it looked like 393 had three units and 394 only had two.

The area on the Connecticut River Line operated by the WACR (VRS.) The same one I post about over in the VRS thread.

Coos93,
The two regularly-scheduled road trains (393 and 394) run Tuesday and Thursday nights. Now that it is winter, they'll likely be running an extra train most weeks, unless it warms back up like last winter. The extras seem mostly to run on Monday (like this week) or Wednesday nights but sometimes on Friday night. I don't think I've ever seen them run one on Saturday or Sunday nights, although, in years past, they have run daytime extras on Sundays when either CN was on strike or serious snow stopped the regular trains on their tracks.

This morning's SLQ westbound 393 departed Island Pond at 0739 with the following:

GP40-2 3004
GP40-2 3035
GP40-2 3007
16 centerbeam flats
14 hi-cube boxcars
1 hi-sided gondola
3 covered hoppers
30 tank cars

That's 64 cars total, all empties.

Surfacing gang (tamper, regulator) has now also left Island Pond.
Have a great day,
Fritz

So I take it from you report of all empties going northwest, that nothing is being produced in this area but only consumed?

Cars are for Presby Plastics they transload pellets behind the former Issacson Steel complex

Yes I see the usual three cars parked at Presby. This lone hopper is about a half mile east along the Jericho Road.
