While traveling through Florence, SC last night, I stopped at Hwy. 52 for gas. There is a rail line that runs parallel to 52, and a train came by with a former GT EMD unit and an ex-CP wide nose SD-40. It was a LONG, carrying many of what I assumed to be trash units, and a variety of other loads. Is this the SC Central, and what is the source of all the trash units?

If you were on the NW side of downtown, then it was the SC Central.

The cars were transporting domestic wastes in containers for disposal in an underground / above ground disposal area.

CSX also hauls a lot of domestic wastes from the Jacksonville, FL; Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC areas for disposal at sites in SC, GA and AL.
