Hi Everyone,

For the past several months, I've been working on a game concept built around interlocking towers and cTc systems. With the uncertain future of MS Train Simulator, and a dwindling market, it seemed like a good idea to move away from that platform and come out with something unique so that our community can get their railroad fixes in other ways

Stream Lines announced today the upcoming Tower Sim series which will cover locally controlled interlocking examples from around the world. While you don't get to run the trains, you will get the chance to tell them where to go. The first release will be MG Tower, located mid-grade (MG) between Altoona and Gallitzin PA on the Horseshoe Curve.

These are stand alone games, which test your organizational skills, and your ability to smoothly move trains from one location to another. In some respects, this is not only appealing to train lovers, but also to those who want a challenging puzzle-like experience.

The MG Tower release of Tower Sim will include:
- A facsimile of a US&S Model 14 electro-pneumatic interlocking machine
- Switch and signal interlocking with approach locking, time locking, and route locking.
- "in the field" signal displays to show the player what the engineers would see as they approach your location
- Model board with track occupancy lights and track layout
- air compressor failures
- incoming calls from other tower operators
- outgoing calls to announce passage of trains
- train audio to give the feel of a passing train outside your tower
- completely customizable activities, and the ability to make your own, and include your own sound files.
- train video of approaching trains (not implemented, but under consideration)
- Compatible with any Windows PC (Mac Version in development)
- and more...

There will be a fully functional demo available in a few days. Keep an eye out for it on the Stream Lines website: http://www.streamlines.ca

I especially like the signal indications shown at the bottom (lined up for the 2nd move following the Broadway and the indication came up as med approach - neat! :-D )

Very cool...
