As of Aug 23 SK was still in operation. A pair of CP SD40-2s were in the yard along with a few freight cars (15 or so). However, things sure look to be winding down.

What is a good vantage point around SK yard for photography? Anybody have anything good?

Yeah, the "vantage point" is driving to the yard entrance off Babcock Street. There are no bridges that span the yard... however... I find if you visit on a weekend afternoon, and stick to the road and parking lot, no one bothers you... and you can get clear shots of all trains and power without trespassing.
