Ryan - SEPTA as far as I know has posted no indication of offering any discounted 2024 Flower Show
admission tickets on their website...On that thought my hunch is that SEPTA has an agreement of some
type with PHS that they can not openly advertise that they offer Flower Show admission tickets that cost
less than the PCC Gate price - outside of mentioning their availability for riders at RRD ticket offices...

SEPTA's offering of Flower Show discount admission tickets have been a money-saver for some
compared to Gate ticket prices...$10 off for Monday-Thursday March 4-7 will be a good example...

I tried to link the Regional Rail bulletin overview with the PDF schedules showing extra RRD service that
will be scheduled for Flower Show Week - I kept being "sent back" to the bulletin listings...

SEPTA is still encouraging riders to use the Key and its various fare products even though the Flower Show
attracts a substantial percentage of those that only plan on or need a round trip from their origin station to
Jefferson Station - Legacy Tickets made this so easy and simple compared to the hassle that exists now...

SEPTA offered past incentives during the Flower Show period remembering the one-day unlimited use
"Bouquet Passes" that were sold - which eventually led to the development of the Independence Passes.
There were no worries about ride limitations then compared to the ten ride Flex Pass on a Key sold now...

For many regular riders and younger people with their dependence on technology using the Key is easy...
For discretional riders and those new to the system not so much with the Key (and QT) complications...
First impressions on the purchase and use of the SEPTA Key and/or Quick Tickets DO matter...MACTRAXX

Everyone: The 2024 Philadelphia Flower Show at the Pennsylvania Convention Center begins on
Friday March 1 with the PHS Members and Invited Guests-only Preview between 12 Noon and 3 PM.
There is a Flower Show Preview Party at PCC between 6 and 9 PM for (WELL-Heeled) VIPs and Patrons...

For SEPTA RRD Flower Show additional service see:
www.septa.org/bulletins/additional-regi ... ower-show/
PDF schedules can be downloaded for reference:
* Weekend Service (Saturday-Sunday March 2-3 and 9-10)
Chestnut Hill East, Chestnut Hill West, Fox Chase, Lansdale-Doylestown, Manayunk-Norristown,
Paoli-Thorndale and Warminster Lines
* Weekday Service (Monday thru Friday March 4-8) Paoli-Thorndale and Lansdale-Doylestown Lines

For the next ten days Jefferson Station is going to be a VERY busy place being the center of attention of
SEPTA Regional Rail...Ridership numbers will be along with the fare collection process on trains and at
JS are going to likely receive the most scrutiny...MACTRAXX

Has anyone heard any updates on contactless payments on the Regional Rail (not onboard payments, but tapping a credit card instead of a Key at the platform readers)?

I heard this was coming "early 2024"—so hopefully it happens before the summer.

The multiple rider option is now available on the website at least. I haven't checked the app.

The app has always supported multiple riders.

Key now does too, as does contactless.

Regional rail still doesn't support contactless non the key platform readers.

Sorry, i meant you can now activate the multiple rider on the key card for regional rail through the website. Previously you could only activate this feature via phone call. I have not checked if you can activate this new feature through the app.

Still zero sign of this anywhere.

Truly boggles the mind how in the year 2024 we have a transit agency whose only rail ticket purchase options are to pay on board or use a custom card that can only be bought at some locations and only in the state where they are based.

Seriously, where can you buy Key card in NJ? 5 random seedy stores in Trenton, one of which appears to be closed.

Over a decade ago, I actually bought tickets online and had them mailed to me. Not an option anymore. And apparently you can't buy Key online either.

If NJT sells SEPTA tickets at the Trenton ticket office, the ticket office should be an authorized Key sales outlet as well.

R36: NO - The NJT Ticket Office (and TVMs) in Trenton only sell THREE SEPTA OW ticket types for the Trenton Line:
(As previously mentioned in past posts in this and other SEPTA fare topics)
1-$3.75 Trenton Line Intermediate valid to all stations Levittown to North Philadelphia inclusive
2-$9.25 Center City Philadelphia Stations - 30th Street, Suburban and Jefferson (Market East) Stations
3-$9.25 Anywhere "Tunnel" via Center City Philadelphia valid to ALL stations on any other RRD Line

The NJT Trenton Ticket Office does NOT sell or handle the SEPTA Key in any manner...

There is NO SEPTA Key readers on the Trenton Station platforms - Key cards are scanned on board
by a member of the SEPTA Train Crew during initial inspection westbound leaving Trenton - or -
before arriving at Trenton on eastbound trains during final inspection or sometime during the run...

PB: From past experience some of those so-called "outlets" turned out to be sales locations for some
electronic money service - and actually had nothing whatsoever to do with the SEPTA Key...especially
for non-SEPTA sales locations outside the City of Philadelphia...MACTRAXX

Indeed NJT can only sell paper tickets and does not sell Key cards or service them in any way. These tickets, if I remember correctly, are good for 45 days from date of purchase.

Basically SEPTA tickets issued and printed on NJT stock.

Trenton Line local intermediate, Center City and "anywhere" via tunnel tickets are also sold at any NJT TVM at any
NJT station.

PB: The three SEPTA Regional Rail ticket types sold by NJT via Trenton were valid for six months/180 days
officially from the date of sale the same as Legacy Tickets when they were still available...

When Quick Tickets - which are only valid on their date of sale - replaced Legacy Tickets in 2021 this created
potential problems concerning the honoring of the three SEPTA OW tickets on NJT ticket stock which as far
as NJT is concerned is good until used...This needs to be properly clarified by SEPTA at some point...

When I travel through Trenton I purchase TWO "Anywhere" Tunnel Tickets for a round trip since I do not have
a SEPTA Key...On a return trip back in early 2023 I was questioned by a train crew member who thought that
the NJT-sold tickets were only valid on their date of sale - the ticket I was using was just five days old...

R36: Being more specific the three SEPTA RRD OW ticket types sold by NJT are ONLY available at Trenton as
stand-alone tickets...At all other NJT stations and TVMs SEPTA tickets are sold only along with NJT tickets
reading to or from Trenton and are not available individually...MACTRAXX

At any TVM you can do so by selecting the origin as Trenton.

R36: NO - SEPTA tickets are NOT available by selecting the origin as Trenton and selecting one of the three
SEPTA ticket types as a "Destination"...I HAVE tried this option - the TVM will *REJECT* this combination
when it is entered at NJT TVMs outside of Trenton Station...

The Trenton TVMs are set up differently - the introduction screen shows "NJT Tickets" or "SEPTA Tickets"
and in this instance tickets CAN be selected and purchased separately...MACTRAXX
