In late 1968/early 1969, PC wanted some updated coaches for the BROADWAY LIMITED (which ran 3 in each set at the time). UNION PACIFIC had surplus cars; PC purchased 6 44-seat leg-rest coaches. And, in true PC style, removed the leg rests! But, at least, these were an improvement over what was being used previously (like, anything that PC had on its roster at the time).
