Former GM siding

According to Edward Hand’s excellent pics, the track dept was clearing or servicing the GM siding Bethpage. Perhaps for a new customer?

Has anyone asked or answered the basic question as to why they are installing a DEF here? Is there a new customer or is it just for changing ends?

I read that Nassau- Suffolk in Huntington is now Riverhead Bldg. Is that true and does that mean there's a possibility that they will take cars again in Huntington?
