Hi Everyone, I'm new to Railroad.net and wanted to share my blog featuring my very own pictures/videos of the Lackawanna Cut-Off Rehabilitation project, both before and during construction/drilling & blasting of the tunnel. I plan on adding pictures as noticeable progress is made. See the blog ...

NJT Labor questions (Which unions cover which on NJT)

I have a question for everyone here. So on the radio they were talking about the labor disputes and I was wondering, what unions cover what for NJT. I belive the bus operators are TWU but the engineers seem more complex as do the conductors

As a Warren to NYC commuter, these guys are right BUT the RVL is decently full (Annandale woks), a P and R would just end up (which would be good) shifting drivers from Annandle/High Bridge to the new exit 7 station On topic, is the Washington Secondary the line that runs to Belvidere via Philipsburg?

I live in the very very edge of Warren County in a nice quiet town. I drive to High Bridge and sleep or if I need to be in early to Easton to take the bus to NYC. Its a long quiet ride with a 15-20 minuet drive first of all

Automatic doors (or at least doors that could be operated from a safe remote operating stations) seem to be the solution. I believe the next generation Siemens cars (and most likely Amfleet III candidates) will replace these in 10 years. This seems sadly preventable with modern technology, and I hop...

Taking people's property by eminent domain for the benefit of a private company, and providing them with preferential zoning, that is illegal and unethical and just wrong. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelo_v._City_of_New_London said that was legal a while ago so that long is settled law, just poin...

I don't know about you, but I, for one, would not feel safe riding a DMU at 110 mph, the current speed limit on portions of the Hartford line in Connecticut. The 2 car shuttle trains hit that speed every time since the 2nd track was opened a bit more than a year ago. The 8 car trains 141 & 148 ...

I just rode the lake shore limited to go to Columbus Ohio. It’s a good train. 2 things, I am shocked they don’t offer a thruway at Cleveland for Columbus Ohio, I bought my own greyhound ticket and you get there at 8 AM or so. Second, is there a connection between the Lake shore line and the Red Line...

So I just came back from a trip to DC and you know what DC does which I think would be amazing? DC lets you use cash to reload their cards on the bus! This would be a game changer since you can use your existing bus fleet to let underserved people refil cards with cash on busses which already accept...

Yep, The Sprinters (and I think every mainline NEC electric since 1930 has been dual cab (because at DC they run around, South they have to wye which I can imagine is time consuming). This is why I am assuming they will use the Midwest style/california style cab car (but when I looked up the powerpo...

I doubt that Amtrak is looking for seats that flip. A mix of seats facing one or the other way in each car is likely. We should assume that this order will also include Cab cars and Bistro (sorry, Cafe) cars. There is no typical consist length that applies to the entire network. It varies by line/s...

In that thread they already allowed for 110mph max speed because all 4 manufacturers said it couldn't be done.
