Based on the signals I've seen laying around, the distant signal on the NS side is probably going to have 1 head with green and yellow lights that will be able to display Approach Restricting (yellow) and Approach Clear (green).

The Ayer traffic is going to have to split off into a separate train again, likely at Chicago. It's already a decent sized train now with all the autorack business that currently rides up on 16R. The Taylor's will probably run on whatever the more convenient train is, maybe even alternating back and...
Usually 22K heads north from Binghamton in the morning or early afternoon. 16R and 31T both head north late at night, if they run at all. Lately CP hasn't been able to take 31Ts every day, and on other days 16R won't run due to a variety of self-inflicted reasons. Southbounds are usually more predic...
Mechanicville hasn't done the filet/toupee in at least a year. 22K comes in with the Mechanicville intermodals on the rear, chops them off on the IM tracks, and continues on to Ayer. 23K does the opposite when it arrives, and it also picks up empty autos if ordered to. The whole filet/toupee process...
A bunch of the SD60Es were equipped with ACSES PTC which is required on MBTA territory. Because of this 11R, 16R, 22K, and 23K have to have a 60E in the lead on Pan Am. It's easier to swap them out in Binghamton than Mechanicville or East Deerfield, so they lead the whole trip. Unfortunately we're s...
It looks like Mechanicville is picking up a lot of the displaced crews at East Deerfield. 1 Engineer & Conductor (XO-1) currently to 8 each.
We're not backtracking to Delanson, just to run around the train again. Either the 205/206 return, or NS tries to stick the Mechanicvilles on 16R.
NYSW 4060 (formerly NS 2751) is sitting outside the shop in Binghamton. Solid black with stenciled reporting marks for now, NS 3553 hasn't been touched yet.
Car numbers are 69005 and 69006.
NS 070 ran from Schenectady to Elmira today to pick up 2 more cars from CAF. Consist was 87/43387/95.
I'll try and answer this question by question. NS and NYS&W are the only 2 railroads left in town now. Bevier Street Yard is home to 3 customers for NS. Frac sand unloading (2 bay covered hoppers), Broome County Cold Storage (refrigerated cars), and Sanford Seed (covered hoppers). The yard gets ...
The NS geometry train ran down the Tier to Port Jervis and back today. When was the last time it went down there?
It sounds like the CP wheelset gondola that was painted in Binghamton a few years back. It's a D&H car, I just can't remember the number at the moment. It has a small pink ribbon on the sides as well as the reporting marks.
NS ran a 25K on Sunday or Monday. Mechanicville to Chicago 47Th street. Some Ayer's. Mostly loads and was all JB Hunt and EMP's. Not sure if this will be regular or just what the story is. NS also ran a 23K and an I3K the same day. The answer is in the second paragraph. They ran out of 23K variatio...
NS 099 ran to Elmira today with Amtrak 111, 43367, and 113. Supposedly returning tomorrow with 2 diners from CAF.
