Assuming the structural integrity of the Silverliner IVs would hold up for another 10 years could a significant number of them be demotored and rehabbed in-house as push pull coaches for the extra ACS64s? And any removed parts be used to keep the remaining powered cars going until at least 2028 or s...

Some more details on the proposed scheduling. Might as well dub it the “Nightlander”. The northbound service will depart Union Station at 6 p.m. and get into Timmins at 5 a.m. The southbound service will leave Timmins around midnight, and arrive in Union Station just before 11 a.m. https://torontosu...

Finally, indeed! “Fairfield Metro Center” (the original name of the planned accompanying commercial development) or “Black Rock Turnpike” (the official address of the station even though the highway doesn’t actually reach it..) would have been the best choices from the beginning. “Fairfield Metro” s...

They probably have too many (new) people asking about it. That said, I'm with Pennsylvania on this. It's 2 hours between Harrisburg and Philly, and another 1.5 hours Philly to the Big Apple. If your station doesn't have food, then there's your problem. +1. And if you don’t plan ahead and bring food...

With the Houston terminal that far outside the downtown area why even bother taking the train at all? You might as well just take a plane. Why do we always assume that train travelers want to go to the city center? Especially in a place as decentralized as Houston? Because that is *LITERALLY* the b...

The PC logo meant "failure" in many aspects during PC's 8 year 2 month lifespan... You literally cannot look at that thing without thinking the words “decay”, “breakdown”, and “bankruptcy”. And looking at it from an objective perspective it looks HIDEOUS and stupid. The Eurostyle font add...

Additionally, many Dallas city council members at the present time question the very expensive extension to Fort Worth because the TRE already exists. The proposed NCTCOG HSR plan suggests around 30 minutes travel time when the TRE does so in 60 minutes. That's a proposed 60 mph average speed vs th...

I watched it last night. VERY well done and highly informative. I had only previously heard of it in a History Channel special on train disasters (featured in between the PRR’s “Red Arrow” and “Federal Express” crashes). The GCI (?) animation of the K4s + P70 coaches is incredible.
