Most definitely I will be there on opening day. However, I’m a little confused as to whether NJT trains/tracks will be posted/announced in the new hall. If not then the only conceivable way for NJ passengers to use it is if they were to look on DepartureVision and plan accordingly. I’m game for a me...

I’m thinking MTA May revert to shuttle service between Middletown and Suffern like they did in the 80s and 90s, or at least have through trains during peak times only. If this comes to pass and no bailout is made then this will be the first time in almost 200 years these counties will have no rail s...

Correct me if im wrong, but the PVL trackage is owned and maintained by NJT, while the PJL trackage is owned by NS and maintained by Metro North? Also, did the 2 railroads at their inception in the early 1980s foresee the problem(s) that would arise from their contractual agreement? (For the record,...

Metro-North president Catherine Rinaldi told NJ Transit she will withhold a portion of its monthly payments until express train service on the Pascack Valley Line is restored, The Journal News/lohud has learned.

Interesting. Were there ever the original comets in erie lack decals on the new Graham alignment, or did Metro North swiftly rebrand them once April of 1983 rolled around? From what I understand there were the comets, one five car consist of the Comarrows with cab car 5199 and a few of the RDC shutt...

So the withholding of the comets past Suffern lasted a few years after their delivery, from about 1970 to 1974.

That must have been infuriating I Imagine to put up with no air conditioning on the stillwells during summer, especially on long commutes.

I always joke they must be rebranding the trains with their old monikers since the service is so bad! :P

It looks like Simon properties, the proprietor of Woodbury Common, is turning its back on construction of a train station. http://www.thephoto-news.com/news/local-news/skoufis-woodbury-common-turns-its-back-on-5-million-in-funding-for-new-train-station-KN593387 According to the Photo News, a local O...

Is this true? I have seen pics from the 70s and 80s showing the Comets and U boats on the old Main Line in Chester.

I doubt that is going to happen. The bureaucratic red tape might be excessive between the two states. It would have to be NJ Transit that erects the repair shop.

I often wondered if that area could benefit from a revived so paterson station.

According to North Jersey.com, Raritan Valley One seat ride service to Penn Station will resume November 4th.

If you understand that Orange and Rockland are located above New Jersey and, at least in a political sense as it pertains to the RR, influenced by NJ because of this geographical location, then you understand why the current situation works. If this were Erie Lackawanna days, geography would not hav...

I hope this doesn't prompt the railroad to introduce paid parking at Newburgh.
