What else am I missing?
Sold to a museum interest in Brooklyn that went belly up. They were loaded onto flat bed trucks on Main St in front of the arena, unloaded at the new owner's downstate, & eventually scrapped there. They couldn't be used in Buffalo because they didn't fit on the system with regards to platform he...
How do they do what they do with the passenger trains in the Falls? Is that a back up move to & from the old & new stations for the Empire Service trains? Does the Maple Leaf pull in & out? I'm not familiar with the track layout there.
Their bridge in Blasedel/Lackawanna has some foundation issues.
The track under the 400 is called the NS's "Buffalo Line", its' former PRR trackage. The NYC Gardenville Branch (Main Line tracks 5 & 6) ran next to this line, alongside & to the East of it. As it curves South thru Lackawanna, it shifts onto the former LV's Lehigh & Lake Erie b...

One other thing that drives me nuts when people complain about rail trails is the fact that before development, the line is in an obvious state of abandonment- disused by the railroad, overgrown, & being used by people for all sorts of shady activities from drugs to illegal dumping & scaveng...
Speaking of that ConRail book, it has some excellent photos of Buffalo from the 1980s, just before they tore everything up. They have a shot of the old Gardenville branch bridge that once stood at Lake Ave, another one of River Bridge when it was still double track with Republic Steel in the backgro...
The basic sight lines are all still there, but to see it today, it looks completely different because of all the overgrowth, tall trees, & the rationalization of the trackage through the section from the photographer's standpoint to the old "FW" interlocking in the background. When I g...
To clear up all the questions & misinformation here: Thats' a Doug Elise photo from page 127 of the book Lehigh Valley Vol 2. Its' the LV's Aplollo - 1 running on the N&W. Shot from the 190 looking at Seneca St. Cadilac Curve is in the background where the midsection of train is wrapping aro...
I've seen 48 a few times in the last few weeks with only one loco. When did they start doing that?
How many trains ran the B&O Buffalo Division daily in the 1960's and 70's?
Negative. These are brand new cars for Goawanda. They were built in April.
I forgot to mention in my earlier post that the cross track over the diamond was called the "Penn Yard Connection" back in the day. One quick story for you about the area. A few years back I was brakeman on the Fair Train when we took it out of Hamburg for CSX to pick up off our main at CP...
