I just got off a NE Regional train with a partial refresh. The seats and carpeting were new as were the reading lights. Everything else was the same. The good. Seat more comfortable. First time I've ridden an Amtrak train and my lower back didn't get sore. The bottom cushion also absorbs the bumps b...

I suspect it's because they have an end door that they can close that keeps the weather out far better than a little bar.

They have to work because of ADA just like the next station display.

I guess I got lucky and caught one of the last AEM-7s a few weeks ago. It's leading the first train in this video.

I just happen to be at RRMPA today not knowing 915 was just delivered there. I got a few photos of AEM 7 915. Today it was push up to E60 603 which has seen better days. https://flic.kr/p/tF6pCe https://flic.kr/p/uCawev https://flic.kr/p/ukkZSf https://flic.kr/p/ukmmzE https://flic.kr/p/tEW3xN

I would suspect Alstom is also on Amtrak's don't like list since they were heavily involved with the Acela.

I really do feel for the engineer in this situation as this would have been right at their window.

Sadly reminds me of when a person offed themselves back in 2010 when I was on the same platform. At least in that case it wasn't gruesome like this and everything stayed on a the track.

The going price for a noise wall is $1.3 million a mile plus planning/engineering/dealing with NJDEP (which can take years). Not what you call cheap or quick. I'm curious as to what assumptions you used to get that $1.3M figure? The costs of constructing noise barriers depend on several factors, in...

The latest word is they miscalculated the number of anticipated number of riders by almost a factor of 3. NJ Transit is also blaming the fans for showing up 2 hours early. It sounds like the return trip is going well though. Maybe removing TSA from the equation is helping.

Reports are saying they suspended the security screening at 2:45 to try and get people moving. Also reports of not anough trains going to the stadium.

Wow. Here I thought I was doing a good job lurking but I only just found this thread. I met him but chance for a few seconds one day a few years ago. As everyone has said John was a great contributor to this board and will be very much missed.

When they re-built the bridge on Rt 1 they lowered it so it will never seen trains again. The lowering allowed NJDOT to raise the speed limit from 50 to 55 on Rt 1 from Ryders Lane to just south of US 130 that was already 55 mph.

Silverline is now a division of Andersen Windows.

There are nice areas of Cherry Hill. The train station just isn't in one of them.

The airlines moved ALL of their airliners out of JFK/LaGuardia. That's only part of an answer. To where did they move those JFK-Laguardia planes? And where did they move the Newark planes? And let me expand on my prior list, to where did they move Washington, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, New Haven,...
