If Amtrak followed FEC south of WPB, I can think of one as-yet nonexistent possible FEC station that would be VERY appealing in South Florida: the southeast corner of Fort Lauderdale Airport , where the tracks briefly straighten out after curving around the airport's front after ducking under 595. ...

Saw this photo from the Sun-Sentinel site dated December 8th, 2010, with the caption: http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/8162/58155857.jpg Fort Lauderdale resident Jeff Collins caught this smoking freight train on the Florida East Coast Railway tracks next to Publix, along 601 S. Noel, With all the talk about stops north of West Palm, where's all the talk about the rest of South Florida...Boca, Pompano, Ft Lauderdale, Hollywood, etc? If the idea of bringing those from Northern and Central Florida to/from Downtown Miami is on the table, why have all these other communities al...

Hate to say it, but If someone ill-intentioned wanted to bring guns onboard the passenger compartment, they wouldn't need to check it in their baggage to do so.

Last time I checked, they don't have metal detectors on the boarding platforms.

I thought for sure that the FEC Market Extension in Pompano (paralleling south of NW 15th st) interchanged with CSX just west of I-95 near the concrete plant, but on further inspection of ...
