_Greetings. Anyone know the NS train schedule for the South Fork Secondary? I know there are at least 2 trains a week, the C49 and the C50. Both work on Mon. and Tue. each week. Are there more trains? Why dose NS put the letter in front of the number for the train symbol? Dose the "C" stand for coal or Carinbrook? Dose NS keep the same train symbol for that train once it reaches the mainline?-Mark

There is no set schedule for the South Fork Secondary runs...they will average a train a day.....they can run any time of the day....empties down in morning, loads back in afternoon, empties down at night, empties in morning.....The C stands for Conemaugh...The Railroadradio.net Johnstown Live Scanner feed can be accessed via internet and you can hear South Fork Secondary crews getting FORM D's from FORK to CAIRN for Southbounds and CAIRN to FORK for Northbounds....My Yahoo Group attached to signature deals specifically with the area in question all the way back to the Pennsy days. There is a member of that Group named the Roadrat who chases those South Fork Secondary trains religiously...The symbols may change in midstream on the Secondary...unlike the through road freights, when a drag recrews on the South Fork Secondary, the symbol changes with the new crew....
