An e-mail excerpt from the Mass. Teachers Retirement System:
It has been decades since I've been on Rutherford for a direct eyeballing, but GEarth shows the area much improved, yet with an acknowledgment to history -- it looks like the Hood smokestack is still there.
For any of you who may not have misspent part or all of your youth around there, the Hood plant is where most milk-train loads terminated, and a strongly-thrown stone's distance away was the original BET.
Dear MTRS Members:If that once-benighted section of Charlestown can be repurposed, what's next? Iron Horse Park?
After ten years in Cambridge, our main office is moving to Charlestown!
Our new location is in Hood Park, the original home of the New England dairy company H.P. Hood and Sons. Our building is just 1.3 miles from our current space, and conveniently located on the MBTA Orange line, between the Bunker Hill Community College and Sullivan Square stations. Free visitor parking is available right outside the building's south entrance.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF OUR NEW ADDRESS AS OF OCTOBER 3:

"A gray crossover is definitely not company transportation."
