River junction - Rochester, NY

Trying to find maps and or photos of "River Junction" which was in the area of the current U of R River Campus. From looking at a 1935 plat map it was just south of the Erie bridge back over the Genesee heading in downtown.

From an entry on one of Scot l's pages the Erie started using the LV from Mortimer in to the city. Trying to figure out where they crossed over.

Note: This is a diiferent river jct than the southern tier,

River Jct. was located at MP 390.7 on the Rochester Branch.

E-L began utilizing the LVRR between River Jct. and Crittenden Road at 10:01 hours on 07 October 1970.

I see on my 1979 topo map of Henrietta where the Erie crossed over to the LV just south of Crittenden.

The only reference I have right now for the north end is the 1935 plat map (plate 40) at the Rochester Images site. That shows the Erie branching off to the LV heading north. Which would mean to me that they would have to go up the LV, then reverse back down the Erie, then ahead to city.

Unless they reworked the north end, looking for a newer map......

According to recent information, the junction shown on the 1935 map was put in about 1932 so the Erie could connect with the Rochester Subway. This was probably more for freight than passengers.
