I'm a 21 year old college student that is interested in applying for Amtrak and CSX. I did receive a reckless driving charge back in October and would like to know if that would affect my chances of becoming employed for either company? I do not have any prior traffic convictions nor a criminal record. In the state of VA where I reside, a reckless driving charge is treated equally as a DUI.

Reckless Driving is a big hit in Virginia with points, fines, possible suspension etc....but it's not a DUI. The railroad can care less about a driving record other than a DUI. You'll most likely have to mention the driving violation on the application but it won't have a negative consequence.
