I've been rather busy with the picture taking here in the past few weeks with school done with. Everything from Richmondville to Gibson.

Anyways, without further ado, here's what I've gotten thus far.

Back on the 21st we got a Metro North P32AC-DM on the D&H 251.

The following day, I went up to Howe Caverns, and managed to get this in Richmondville:

They can't make photos easy, can they?

Starting off the afternoon of the 30th, not much was happening. Just an idling salt train at Prospect (Ever wonder where Trevor gets his Binghamton intel?) whose numbers I have forgotten. And a 13T. CP was working the yard, and a 39T was lined up to go, except it had no crew. NYSW had a local crew shuffling around East BD.

Then after that, I heard 250 calling the yard. So we went over to Cold Storage, where 514 had been kind enough to put 3 ARMN reefers in my normal shot. (I swear it's a conspiracy!) Anyways, we heard the crew was going to Afton to recrew a 169 to shove a stalled 252 over the hill. They didn't bother to mention that 169 was in Oneonta.

So we went up to Afton, expecting a 169 waiting for us. Then my dad mutters something about a wild goose chase. CPF-587 was lit up for a southbound, so I knew it was somewhere. Just not here. (Like my upstate reasoning?)

So I called Trevor, to see what the hell was going on, as my brain hurt now. (How can it be here, but not be here!?) he reported that he had heard nothing, but was going down to build some Bowser coal hoppers. Then I told him I was in Afton at 587. He said he'd be right down. Sure enough, minutes later, our Silly Sidney Reporter showed up, tripod and dying camera in tow. (Mine was too, somehow) As he arrived, the detector at 583 went off, and we set up for the shot. I stood there, and he generally messed around with the tripod. And they say today's teens don't do anything. Then we heard horns, I raised my camera, and Trevor tilted his tripod and stood back, finger on the button. Laziness.

After it passed, we went our separate ways. Or so I thought. Trevor doubled back and went south again, as the fire call was a farce, and they decided to go to Tunnel. My dad decided a bathroom break was in order. I decided that from now on, I need a tripod, and my car, so I can double my laziness, and stay warm! So as I was sitting at Lovejoy Road, I called Trevor advising him to come back. So they did, as they wanted to see this. About 15 minutes later, NS 9670 showed up, and tied on to the rear. (ALY 560009, 50' Gunderson High-Cube boxcar)

And I got this:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yesteray GJoe and I decided to venture out in search of action on the D&H. Needless to say, we were very successful.

Starting off at 0845, we got gas in his car, and went to Dunkin Donuts, and got our fix, (as well as the car's) for the morning. We then found out about a monster 168 going north, so we decided that would be our first prey for the day.

We first caught him at Crocker Hill road, and moved on up with him to Harpursville. I'll let the photos do the talking.

It was here that 887 was waiting in the wings to go south. The CR unit was a nice treat. Anyone got the actual number on the 3rd unit? I think I got it, but I may be wrong. We chased him to Tunnel, when we decided it was lunch time, and went to BK on Court Street to plan the next course of action.

As it happened, 250 had been on it's way down from Oneonta, and there would be a meet at some point between it and 251, we figured it would be at Afton. We were wrong. 251 hadn't even left the yard yet. But GJoe, led by the smell of SD40-2 was on the case. As we approached Afton, we heard the detector at Bainbridge go off. The chase was on!

We moved down to Fuller Road to get a nice southbound shot, hoping for some snow in the pines to mix with the red and yellow. Oh well.

We flew out of there, and went down Nowlan Road, I wasn't sure we'd make it in time, so we kept going to Phelps Street. He came around the corner as we got to the gates. This is shot from the car.

http://andy9889.rrpicturearchives.net/s ... id=1002558

We went up to Lower Nowlan Road to catch the 251 with some nice backlighting. Is that bridge the old 611 signal?

http://andy9889.rrpicturearchives.net/s ... id=1002560 (Is that the right number for the CEFX unit?)

And that was that for yesteray. 50 shots, all of them good. It was hard to decide which to post!

That rebuilt P32AC-DM is looking good. I did not realize that the CEFX Bluebirds went to Bingo Land, but now I know.

I type in Brown because I can.

Thanks!

If it's out there, we'll get it. I've seen stuff from every class 1, as well as most of the leaser roads. I'm still liking the NREX ex.ATSF SD45-2s we get.

Mostly we get the CEFX AC44s, but the SD90s and SD40-2s make their presence known. The 90s tend to run in pairs.
