Some of VIA's RDC's were "Rebuilt" by Industrial Rail,a failed railcar rebuilder,the test runs did not go well. :(
Believe the test runs were done in the middle of winter as well.
After the Auction Sale of the remains of "Industrial Rail",all remaining the RDC's at the facilty are being scrapped on site,
except for 1,VIA 6133,saved by Jason of Rapido Trains fame.

I doubt the fact they were rebuilt had anything to do with it, VIA never publicly said why the RDC experiment didn't work out. Your guess is as good as mine.
