And yet another question...
Raymond International bought several L&NE RS2s and many gons, hoppers and other rolling stock. According to the books on the L&NE, Raymond was building a railroad in the Nimba Mountains of Liberia. Folklore says the RS2s were on a ship which sunk in the Atlantic, but the L&NE book disputes that and says that the locomotives were sold to a cement plant in Mexico after the railroad in Liberia was built. How about the rolling stock? Did Raymond send the gons and hoppers to Liberia as well, or did they keep them closer to home? Does anyone know?
Speaking of Raymond International, is this company still in existance? Except for their association with buying some L&NE equipment in 1961, I have never heard of them and was wondering if they were/are a big construction outfit.
