Are there any good in-person networking opportunities that could lead to white-collar jobs with railroads (Class Is, shortlines, or passenger)? I would assume that conferences and regional railroad association meetings would be good ones, but am I missing anything? Specifically, in the Northeast, are there any particularly good ones?

Thanks.

Colleges will have career fairs and often times there will be railroads there. I would guess it would help for you to be a student in order to find out when those events will be and also to gain access. I never had anyone check my school ID, but it could happen.
