Hello!

I did a bit of searching but couldn't find a lot of relevant info on the topic.
Is anyone out there working for any of the railroads, while serving in the armed forces reserves (Navy, esp.)?

Long story short, I'm making the transition out of the Navy after 10 years of service and was approached about affiliating with the Navy Reserve before separating. I know there are statutory requirements for employers making accommodations for returning to work after mobilizations, active duty for training, etc, but does anyone have any experience with this?

I've seen a lot of folks on here telling horror stories about extended furloughs, so having the reserves as a backup for slow times on the railroad seems like a good idea.

Any thoughts? :-)
