Last evening during my nightly slide scanning ritual, I couldn't help but notice that when #5212 showed up in Chicago 10 days after Conrail, the "nameplate" was gone...sorta reminded me of gazing at the bare wall after someone steals the priceless painting:

Especially considering the fact that neither of the "unique" C430s survived, I would hope that at least the "nameplates" did and they are not sitting in the attic of some disgruntled former Reading Company employee or worse yet sold to the highest bidder on eBay but instead have been donated to the RCT&HS. Anyone know where both sets are?

Here are shots I took of #5212 & #5211 in "better days:"

The plates on the 2 C-430's and C-630 5300 were plastic! I know that at least two of them are in the hands of a RCT&HS member, which were removed with the help of Conrail employees. Another was removed by a car knocker in Allentown (now deceased unfortunately), and it hung in his train layout room. I'm sure that the 2 will be donated when RCT&HS gets its museum going, but don't know what will happen to the other one. That still leaves 3 more that I don't know about!
