I've got a company listed as a common carrier in IL from 1893-7 called the "Madison, Alton & Chicago" which was described as "abandoned". I haven't been able to find any reference to this anywhere, except one note saying it built 10m. Anybody with any info? It's been suggested that it went into the "Illinois Traction" system, but where?
