Let me get this straight- they want to blow 50 grand of the taxpayers money to do a feasibility study to see if they can silence the horns, then they will be sueing the state after a few cars get creamed by the trains because of the lack of horns at the crossings. Sounds like typical politician thinking.

Bartender- I'll have what they are drinking!!!

B&M, You've got it wrong. The issue isn't cars getting "creamed," although that is certainly with possible with 6 crossings in slightly less than .5 mi. Rather, it's the supposedly retaliative horn blowing (according to Kingston's Mayor James Sottile) following the Dunkin Donuts incident and the frequent blocking of those same crossings by CSX trains. On a brighter note, NJ dispatcher Wayne Waddell did everything he could to keep trains moving (a multiple train meet) Weds. evening so that NO crossings would be blocked.

Yep sounds like the typical knee jerk reaction from a low life politician who's real job is managing a burger king, at the taxpayers expense. Should be interesting to see if his cronies go for the feasibility study. What kind of study would cost 50 grand??? High price for a grudge....

$50,000 sounds relatively cheap for such a study. Figure $250 an hour for the consultant and 200 hours of getting data, report writing etc.
