Flying Continental into Newark today(Tues 11-9) over the usual Philly-West Trenton-Princeton-Monmouth-Amboy approach I spotted what looked like a CSX GP15 s.b. around Helmetta with about ten cars. Is this "normal" hours for this job, any other days when its out? I'd love to get down there and snatch a photo around that old snuff factory. I find this branch in particular photogenic beyond words (South Amboy sub?) Is it locals only or does anything bigger/longer make the trip like in the good old days.

It's locals only, except for the Transfer out of Oak Island, and the occasional run to Port Reading Yard. But yes, the Amoby Secondary is VERY photogenic. Esspecially in the areas of Helmetta (by the snufmill, or really, anywhere in that town), Spotswood (a few good spots), and Jamesburg (once again, the whole town is great).
