I've seen a few of these trains in the last month with a single engine on the tail end. It is, of course, not operating (so far as I can see) and not actually doing any pushing en route. I was wondering why they started doing this though? This train has always run with all of the power up front, coming and going from fresh pond. I'm assuming they use the engine at the rear for switching when they get back up to CT?
