PRR 5711 & 5809 to tour CSAO - 7/21 Sunday

Newark Penn to Hunter - Lehigh Line to PRJ - Port Reading Secondary to Chemical Coast to points north before returning to Newark.

I'll be in Port Reading waiting for them. May have to consider giving them a Nathan M5 horn salute.

If you ever wanna buff Port Reading again, I wouldn't do that to the cliental that going be on that train.

I might photograph the tour train. What time are they going to depart Newark after the tour is over? Will they head back to Philadelphia tomorrow?

Saw the train in the yard as I was taking the 30th St exit off of Eb I-76. Nobody else on my bus understood why I was excited. Wish I could've stopped for picture, but that was not feesable.

Hard to believe its been a week already, but here are some of my photos from last Sunday.

We start with the equipment move to Newark, seen here passing through Metuchen station on the corridor. Behind Juniata Terminal ex-PRR E8As 5809 & 5711 were Babbling Brook, Magnolia, Alexander Hamilton, Warrior Ridge and observation car 120.

From there, I patiently waited along the Shared Assets Lehigh Line in South Plainfied by Sherban's Diner. I also took a black & white. I moved over to the Port Reading Secondary to see the train head east to Port Reading.

I knew the lighting wouldn't be the best at Port Reading, but wanted to get a photo of the train passing the signal for CP Ron. With the train stopping to pickup a passenger at Port Reading, I was able to get this photo. And one more for good measure.

At the beginning of the trip, I assume the engines ran around the train in or just east of Newark Penn Station. Anyone know exactly how/where they did that?

From the first post, it sounds like they came back via the P&H. Anyone know where they dropped off their passengers? Somewhere near Lane? Elizabeth station?
