I'm a successful small scale, freelance vegetation control professional and am seeking an earlier model pickup truck w/hi rail capability or Mid Atlantic supplier of hi rail equipment to install on my vehicle. The goal is to add small scale track spraying to my scope of work through the installation of a spray rig w/gun + booms. A hi rail will complete my "fleet": jon boats; Carolina Skiff for Chesapeake Bay spraying; ATV w/dual tanks and booms; truck sprayer for landscape and off-road; Kubota UTV w/spray rig. If I can access an area, I want to be able to kill it.

Thank you for any direction.

I'm looking to achieve a truck + hi rail equipment similar to this...I'll add the sprayer or buy my own truck and assemble the setup with add on hi rail gear plus the spray equipment.

I'd tell you to check with Fontaine but it don't look like their in the hyrail business anymore. Your best bet would be to ask any of the guys driving one where they get their annual inspections done, then go there and see if they have any left over rigs from wrecks or whatever.

Hi Patrick,

I would suggest checking out the following web sites which sell or broker a variety of rail-related equipment, including hi-rail vehicles:

Rail Swap

Ozark Mountain Railcar

Sterling Rail

Yes. It's similar to researching and building my spray boat. I needed to add the max weight (and distribution) I was planning to carry, with extra for contingency, and assemble the "carrier" around the spray rig, water, operators, motor and gear. The truck pic was for illustrative purposes only. I'm starting from ground zero here and hoping for a final solution in 2015 or thereabouts. I'm also member of NARCOA and am considering motorcar + flat (spray train) as an possible option.

Thanks everyone for the equipment sources. Project capacity research and shopping is underway to complete my fleet.
