Friends,

Using the Private Message function of railroad.net is a privilege, not a right. In recent days, we received a complaint from an honorable member of long standing. This member is in position to provide much information to our board.

He received an inordinate number of questions by PM from another member. Jeff finally cut off that second members' PM privileges.

Think about do you really need to PM, vice publicly posting a question, before you send a message.

Many thanks.

To add: there is also a feature to report Private Messages (PM's). It works (basically) the same as reporting a post.

I take PM abuse even more seriously than flame wars in threads. Just. Don't. Do. It. I'm loathe to suspend and/or ban members and lock topics, but harass a fellow member? Please don't. People who are knowledgeable about railroading, or certain facets thereof, are assets here. I'm not going to lose them because someone is annoying them.

Thanks!
