It was amusing that the seats depicted in this video are clearly GO Transit seats. As far as yesterday's speeds, the Canadian presently on the mostly CN route is slower in 2011 than the Continental was in 1948. The latter train was steam-hauled, yet with all the necessary changes of locomotive it got to Vancouver faster than the diesel-hauled version today. It's sad, really. But at least we have a Toronto-Vancouver train - and a splendid one at that. It was almost lost in the 1990 Mulroney 50% chop of VIA service.
