For anyone else who might have been wondering why they have been doing demolition and site prep at a large site in Gardner MA on the Heywood branch, here's the answer. The site will have rail access, but so far its all just wishful thinking.....

Gardner gets $250,000 more to develop factory site

"Mr. Hawke said the city expects to tear down at least one more factory building and possibly two. It has also bought the rail spur into the site to aid development......"
