I remember reading about the Pan Am name being licensed to a freight carrier somewhere. That must be them.

It's entirely possible that the company is licensing the rights to a variation of the Pan Am name... also possible that licensing the "real" logo would have cost more than the new airline was willing to pay... or perhaps Pan Am Systems is being very selective about who they're willing to license the logo to.
