I followed the train all the way from Howe's Cave to Hornell... A very good, if not long day! A little excitement when the train left Binghamton, one of the units caught fire. The Johnson City Fire Department responded quickly, and the train was able to continue on its way.

Proficient on the Southern Tier Line, The former PRR Elmira Branch, A little LV, A lot of EL, And of course, the Corning Secondary. Someone always knows more than me. Remember the Binghamton yardmaster that routinely said in a high voice, "No! No! No! That's not what I told you to do!"?

The officer told us where we could walk up to for photos, and we were making sure to stay out of the way of the fire department and everyone else. Looks like they were able to contain the damage and get the train moving quickly. Total stop was maybe 45 minutes?

I wasn't there, but 45 sounds about right. Interesting thing was, the train left about 45 minutes early from Bingo, but was right on time due to the fire delay...I can't complain though! I got nice low light!
