Does anyone have a documented process for qualifying acceptable equals for LRV proprietary parts? How do you test and approve newly reverse engineered items as to not jeopardize public safety? If you have a process already developed, I'd love to have a copy. We are just starting to develop such a process. Thanks! ~ Jennifer

Welcome, Jennifer!

I can't help answer your question, but I'll cross-post it to our General Discussion: Locomotives, Rolling Stock, and Equipment forum. Otherwise, you may wish to talk to other transit agencies already running the equipment in question. Failing that, I'd find a reputable company that does fatigue testing (or electrical cycle loading, or what have you) and see if they can help you develop a process.

Good luck!
