Wrecker and dozers missing from ED Yard
- Guilford Rail System changed its name to Pan Am Railways in 2006. Discussion relating to the current operations of the Boston & Maine, the Maine Central, and the Springfield Terminal railroads (as well as the Delaware & Hudson while it was under Guilford control until 1988). AFAIK, both "sidewinder" bulldozers are assigned to the East Deerfield wreck outfit,
with just the 200 ton crane kept at Waterville. Depending on the situation, the
dozers are much more efficent in clearing derailments, being much more versatile
and manuverable than the cranes.
PAR is one of a few railroads still operating their own wreck trains, as most
railroads use derailment cleanup companies, such as Hulcher, R.J. Corman,
and others.

Caught word that the wreck train derailed (twice) in EDFLD Yard. Only Pan Am...
